Garuda launching world’s first and only non-stop flight from London to Jakarta on March 31

Starting at the end of next month, travelers will be able to fly straight from London’s Heathrow Airport all the way to Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

The new non-stop London-Jakarta route, which is being launched by national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, will be the very first commercial flight to directly connect the UK with Indonesia. Previously, Garuda passengers from London to Jakarta had to do a stopover in Amsterdam.

According to Travel Daily News, the first flight on the new route will take place on Thursday, March 31. Tickets will be available in the third week of February.

The flights will run five times per week, every day except Monday and Friday, and will utilize a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Unfortunately, Garuda passengers going from Jakarta to London will still need to stopover in Singapore before they can take a direct flight to The Big Smoke.
