There’s no need to worry about fluctuating fuel prices for now – prices for Premium and Solar fuels in May are set to remain the same as in April.
Premium fuel remains at Rp 7,400 per liter in Jakarta whereas solar fuel is priced at Rp 6,900 per liter. Fuel prices for May have been determined by global crude oil prices between March 25 to April 25.
“The average global crude oil prices remained the same in that period. Thus fuel prices in general will not be raised and the prices remain, effective May 1, 2015 at 00:00 WIB,” said Acting General Director of Migas IGN Wiratmaja, as quoted by Republika yesterday.
Meanwhile, the launch of Pertamina’s new fuel, Pertalite, to compete with Premium fuel in large cities, is yet to be determined, though it’s very likely to be launched this month. Pertalite is said to be of a higher quality than Premium and it’ll be priced at between Premium (Rp 7,400) and Pertamax (~Rp 8,600).
