Former President BJ Habibie is reportedly in good health, despite having presidential medical staff closely monitoring his condition ever since he was treated at the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital for exhaustion a short time ago.
Rubijanto, Habibie’s personal secretary, said the former president is still recovering from his treatment at the hospital.
“He is still being closely monitored by the presidential medical staff. Now he must rest at home, and we can’t schedule him for meetings or outside activities,” Rubijanto said, as quoted by Antara.
Sri Redjeki, Habibie’s younger sister, said the former president is regaining his fitness by doing light exercises at his home in Kuningan, South Jakarta.
“We’d appreciate your prayers so that he will remain in good health,” Sri said.
Their statements quashed the rumors circulating that Habibie had passed away this morning.
