Forensics show bones inside “pocong” of Pasar Minggu came from a dog

It looks like we still don’t have proof that the pocong exists, even after locals in Pasar Minggu discovered pocong-like remains yesterday.

Forensic doctors at the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital in Salemba, Central Jakarta examined the bones in the pocong cloth wrap and came to a rather anticlimactic conclusion about its origins.

“We can confirm that they are dog bones after we found dog molars amongst the bones,” said Grand Commissioner Musyafak, head of the Medical Unit at the Jakarta Metro Police, as quoted by Vivanews.

A logical explanation would be somebody wrapped a dead dog pocong-style and buried it on the side of the street in Pasar Minggu.

Locals initially feared that the bones came from a monkey, or a child.

In any case, we hope the dog is smiling down at us from doggy heaven now.
