As if it’s not enough that we had an unqualified “beauty doctor” who performed on her clients in the toilet of a mall, the police last week also arrested an unlicensed doctor who has been practicing in five clinics in Bekasi and Depok for the past three years.
Herma Ayu Dewi AKA Kafha Nilian AKA Ayu at least went to medical school. However, she dropped out before she could complete her degree from a university in Yogyakarta.
Herma’s colleague, who realized that she hadn’t earned a medical license, reported her to the Depok Police last week. Herma was arrested last Wednesday.
“She gets paid Rp 1.2 million per day,” said Depok Police Chief Dwiyono, as quoted by Tempo today.
Dwiyono added that Herma usually saw 30 patients in a single day. She practiced in four clinics in Depok and one in Bekasi.
Herma could face up to five years in prison for medical fraud.
