An explosion took place at around 2:50pm this afternoon near the Tanah Abang Police Station in Kebon Kacang. At least 5 people were injured by the blast, with the victims rushed to RS Pelni hospital in Petamburan.
The source of the explosion is still not known, although both a bomb blast and a gas leak have been suggested as possible causes.
One local resident named Otong told Liputan6 that the magnitude of the explosion was enough to shake his house.
A bomb squad was spotted investigating the scene of the explosion but police have not given out any information on what they think caused it.
