One of the four deceased victims from the deadly car collisions in Pondok Indah last night was 49-year-old Adjunct Police Inspector Batang Onang Lubis. He leaves behind four children and a wife who is three months pregnant.
“He had four children, none of them are married. His wife is still three months pregnant,” said Reni Hasibuan, the victim’s niece today, as quoted by Kompas.
Reni said she went to Fatmawati Hospital in South Jakarta as soon as she heard the news about her uncle. There, she saw Batang’s wife, Idawati, who was in a state of shock.
“Ibu Ida (Idawati) was hit hard. She’s been weak physically since this morning,” Reni said.
The victim’s body will be flown to South Tapanuli, North Sumatera, for a funeral this afternoon.
