Cute kittens, but not necessarily the ones found in Governor Ahok’s office
We imagine it would take a lot to distract Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Puranama from full-on meeting mode. But who would’ve thought he would take a break from a meeting because of kittens?
Ahok was in a meeting with PT Basuki Pratama at City Hall today when he immediately rushed out of the meeting room. He didn’t go straight to his office, but instead went to the kitchen.
There, Ahok told a maintenance employee that he heard cats meowing from above the meeting room ceiling. He even suspected that a kitten might have fallen from the ceiling down into the meeting room.
“I heard the cat sounds from below, not from above,” Ahok said, as quoted by Merdeka today.
The employee said he had previously captured the kittens, but the mother has so far evaded capture.
“I went up there, pak. I looked with a flashlight. I caught them all, no [kittens] fell below [the meeting room]. The mother ran away,” he said.
This isn’t the first time Ahok had a run-in with cats in his office. There was also a time when he found a kitten in his office.
“We might as well keep them,” Ahok said.
