Have you ever heard the age-old advice, “there’s a time and place for everything – and it’s called college”? Well, that doesn’t seem to apply to some conservative colleges in Indonesia.
College student YI (21) and her boyfriend AE (26) were spotted by security guards entering a bathroom together in Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University in Serang, Banten yesterday.
Suspicious, the guards followed them into the bathroom and heard moans coming out of a toilet stall. When they opened the door, YI was topless and only had her skirt on.
The security guards then forced the couple out of the bathroom and paraded them around campus (with clothes on this time, we hope). As if the parade wasn’t shameful enough, some college students also took the opportunity to slap AE.
And the invasion against the couple’s privacy didn’t end there. The police got involved and found out by checking the couple’s phones that they planned to get together beforehand.
“We found out about the plan after searching through text messages in their mobile phones,” said Agus Purwa, head of the Cipokok Jaya Police Department, as quoted by JPNN yesterday.
We don’t know about you, but a university that doesn’t allow their students to do what only comes naturally to them doesn’t sound like a university we’d enroll in.
