Cannabis seeds being sold online from a UK-based website.
KE, a 27-year-old post-graduate student at an American university, was arrested Monday for ordering drugs online and having them shipped to Jakarta from abroad.
KE ordered marijuana seeds from England. The package arrived in Indonesia and customs was able to determine its illicit contents.
The police set up a sting operation to catch KE when he went to retrieve the package at a post office in Pasar Baru.
“KE admitted to having ordered the same package three times from the online seller. He found out about the website via Google,” said National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Spokesman Slamet Pribadi, as quoted by Metro TV yesterday.
The police confiscated 26 marijuana seeds from the package.
KE wasn’t charged with drug smuggling. Instead, he will be required to attend rehab to combat drug addiction.
