A civil servant from the Indramayu regency of West Java was arrested for allegedly assaulting a female toll booth officer on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road last Friday.
The civil servant, a man identified as 48-year-old BF, was filmed by CCTV cameras throwing a punch and a kick at the toll booth officer, the footage of which has gone viral on social media lately.
“The victim, witnesses, and suspect have all been questioned. The CCTV footage is evidence,” said West Java Police Spokesman Yusri Yunus, as quoted by Merdeka today.
According to reports, BF was angry that the electronic toll gate was malfunctioning. He got out of his car and took out his anger on the victim, a woman identified as NZ, for reasons that have not been made clear.
NZ suffered some bruising from the assault and was treated at a nearby hospital. She reported BF to the police, but it’s not yet known what charges the civil servant would face for assaulting NZ.
