With great banjir, come irritating medical conditions. Locals in Petogogan, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, are flocking to the clinic to get treatment for various flood-related diseases.

The head of the Kebayoran Baru Clinic, Rismasari, said locals are suffering from respiratory conditions and skin rashes.

“Most of them have URI (Upper Respiratory tract Infection) and itchy skin,” Rismasari said today, as quoted by Vivanews

Fortunately, Rismasari said the South Jakarta city administration has prepared for the flood season since December of last year. As such, they are stocked up on medical supplies.

Petogogan is just one of the South Jakarta districts inundated by flood. Floodwater levels are so high in certain areas that some locals were displaced from their homes.
