10 fire trucks were deployed at the scene and firefighters managed to put out the fire an hour after it started.
There were no casualties from the fire.
“It was just the building that burned,” said firefighter Heru at the scene, as quoted by Vivanews today.
A few hours before the CIMB Niaga fire, a fire also broke out in a densely populated housing area on Jalan Matraman Dalam 3 in Menteng, Central Jakarta. Twenty one houses were burned down.
The fire started at around 9:30pm on Monday and firefighters managed to put it out by around 1 am the next day. There were no casualties from the incident.
The cause of both fires have not yet been determined.
