Remember when the Jakarta Provincial Government grounded 30 Transjakarta buses manufactured by China’s ZhongTong after one of its buses randomly caught on fire on Jalan Gatot Subroto exactly a month ago? Well, those 30 buses are now back on the road.

The buses have actually been operational since April 1 after ZhongTong gave their guarantee over their bus’ safety.

“We’ve performed static tests, dynamic tests and validation tests and the results are all good,” said PT Transjakarta First Director Antonius NS Kosasih, as quoted by Warta Kota today.

This means that Transjakarta can now resume normal service as the grounding of 30 buses left the company shorthanded for a month.

But we really hope there won’t be any more random fires caused by low quality manufacturing on Transjakarta’s buses.
