A suspect could soon be named in the gruesome murder of 13-year-old Putri in Ciledug and the alleged brutal knife attack on her 17-year-old brother Rizki. The police are now suspecting Rizki himself might have killed his sister.
“The suspect may well be the victim who survived,” said Sutarmo, head of the Crime Investigation Unit at the Tangerang Police, as quoted by Tempo yesterday.
Sutarmo said evidence including testimonies from the victims’ parents and witnesses, as well as other items found at the crime scene, suggests that the murderer could be Rizki, who was supposedly alone with Putri in the house at the time of the murder.
Rizki, who is now being treated at the National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati, previously told the police that a large, bald man entered their house to attack the siblings, killing his sister.
But witnesses say they didn’t see anyone go in or out of the house at the time of the murder.
“[Rizki’s] testimony made no sense. There was no large, bald man. Witnesses say that was a genie,” Sutarmo said.
The police also recently completed a DNA test of a semen sample found on Putri’s body. The result of the test has not yet been disclosed to the public.
On June 7, residents of Kampung Dukuh, Ciledug, Tangerang, were shocked to find Rizki screaming for help in his house after receiving multiple stab and slash wounds from a sharp weapon. When locals searched the house, they found his sister Putri dead, lying on a pool of blood after her throat had been slit. Their parents weren’t home at the time of the attack.
