British Prime Minister David Cameron is currently on a tour of Southeast Asia to discuss economic and security issues. His first stop was in Jakarta, where he met with President Joko Widodo yesterday to talk about a variety of issues including infrastructure loans.
But it wasn’t all high-level diplomatic meeting for the Prime Minister during his time in the Big Durian. He also slotted in time to visit a local market and eat pisang goreng (fried bananas) alongside Indonesian actress and singer Maudy Ayunda.
It’s not exactly clear why Maudy was given the honor of snacking on pisgor with Cameron, but it probably has something to do with the fact that she is currently studying politics and economics at Oxford University (where Cameron also went to school)
Cameron also went to Grand Sunda Kelapa mosque where he talked to community leaders about the challenges of battling radical ideologies (gathering support for the fight against ISIS was another big piece of Cameron’s Southeast Asia agenda).
