Hundreds were reportedly injured after the mezzanine floor of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) building collapsed at around 12:10pm today.
According to CNN Indonesia correspondent Hera F Haryn, many of the casualties were visitors to the building.
“Hundreds of people [were injured], most of them college students from Bina Darma University Palembang who were there on a field trip,” she said, as quoted by CNN Indonesia.
The exact number of casualties is not yet known as authorities are still focused on evacuating people from the building, which is located in SCBD, South Jakarta

The incident reportedly occurred in Tower 2 of BEI, with the mezzanine floor collapsing onto the crowded reception area below. The cause of the collapse is not yet known and authorities are searching among the rubble in case anyone was trapped below.

Authorities said that the afternoon stock trading session at BEI is expected to resume as normal.
