The Jakarta Police are preparing to escort five ambulances carrying the bodies of five of the drug convicts recently executed at Nusakambangan prison in Cilacap, Central Java.

“From the nine on death row, six of them were supposed to be flown to Jakarta today, but there’s information that one of the convicts wasn’t executed so there will be five [bodies],” said Jakarta Police Traffic Department Director Risyapudin today, as quoted by Vivanews

The police will escort the five bodies while they are in Jakarta. They departed Nusakambangan at 5 am today and are expected to arrive in Jakarta at 11 am.

The five bodies to be flown to Jakarta are of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran (Australia), Martin Anderson (Ghana), Sylvester Nwolise (Nigeria) and Rodrigo Gularte (Brazil).

They will all be taken to separate locations for brief funeral rites before being driven to the Soekarno Hatta International Airport, where the bodies will be flown to their respective home countries.
