Bodies of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran will be flown back to Australia tonight

The bodies of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, the two Australian citizens executed on Tuesday night along with six other drug convicts, are currently at the Eternal Funeral Home in West Jakarta but will be flown back to Australia tonight on a Garuda Indonesia Jakarta-Sydney flight.

“Thursday at 11:20 pm the bodies will be flown on Garuda GA712,” said the manager of the funeral home, who did not wish to be named, as quoted by Tribunnews

The bodies of Chan and Sukumaran will be be sent to Soekarno-Hatta Airport at around 2-3pm this afternoon. They will be transported in two ambulances, each with a police escort. The bodies will be transported in custom-made coffins designed to protect them during the flight. 

According to information received by the funeral home, the family of Chan and Sukumaran will be waiting to receive the bodies in Australia so they can hold funeral ceremonies before their burial.
