Will we ever see a Hooters open in Indonesia? Last year the famous American “breastaurant” (no, we did not make that term up ourself) chain said it was planning to expand to our country, though we haven’t heard any more about it since then. Perhaps seeing a gap in the market, one bakso restaurant in North Jakarta clearly decided to borrow Hooters’ “marketing strategy” (and color scheme) during its recent opening to attract attention.
And it seems to be working as many on social media are now buzzing about Bakso Djingkrak, a restaurant specializing in Indonesian meatballs that opened on April 20 in Sunter. But people aren’t really talking about the bakso so much as how the waitresses (who are reportedly owners of the restaurant) are dressed:
However, it appears that you won’t be able to catch these ladies in their orange outfits again as they were just for the grand opening special, as one tweep found out yesterday:
Today their clothes are less revealing, unlike during the grand opening.
But in case you’re wondering if the bakso is worth the trip to Sunter, check out these mouthwatering pics from the restaurant’s Instagram account:
Bakso Djingkrak is located on Jalan Danau Sunter Utara Blok F 20 No. 25.
