Badass policewomen use judo to take down bag snatcher in Bandung

Bandung Police officers Ayu Cyntia and Dety with bag thief P

One bag snatch thief from Bandung was left bloody and bruised after he made the mistake of tangling with two of the city’s most badass police officers.

Last Monday, Brigadier Officer Ayu Cyntia and Brigadier Officer Dety were working security at the Floating Market Lembagan in West Bandung. The area was packed with tourists enjoying the Idul Fitri holiday.

Around 2:15pm, Ayu and Dety saw a thief steal a bag off an unsuspecting tourist. They pursued the criminal, forcing him to toss the bag. But the police officers did not stop in their pursuit, eventually catching up to the thief.

The criminal, identified by police as P, tried to attack the two officers. But using their knowledge of judo, they were able to incapacitate P (giving him a bloody nose in the process, as indicated by the mugshot above).

Cimahi Police Chief Dedy Kusuma Bakti said “The suspect was then taken directly to Lembang Police State for further processing and investigation,” as quoted by Okezone.

According to Dedy, policewomen are often assigned to the Floating Market so they can help protect and serve tourists, especially women and children. But he said they are also well trained in martial arts such as judo and karate in case they need to physically disable suspects.

We’re pretty sure criminals around Bandung will now think twice about trying to get away with anything if they see these policewomen walking their beat.
