Back to work after just three days off, Ahok: “The mosquito bite wasn’t strong enough”

A badass Ahok meme

Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama returned to work this morning after dengue fever kept him out for three days.

Ahok, who looked rather pale, enthusiastically greeted journalists on standby at City Hall when he arrived at 8:15am today.

“My thrombocyte levels have gone up and leukocyte levels have gone down. The doctor said I could go home. I was treated at a secret hospital,” Ahok said, as quoted by Kompas today.

Ahok said his doctor gave him the approval to resume his normal daily activities. Normally, dengue sufferers are supposed to rest for at least seven days, not three as in Ahok’s case.

“The mosquito bite wasn’t strong enough,” Ahok said with a laugh.

It seems not even those pesky dengue mosquitoes can keep our badass governor down for too long
