The ground floor of the Atrium Senen shopping center in Central Jakarta caught on fire last night at around 11:45 pm, with the fire thought to have originated from a shoe store on the same floor.
Twenty fire trucks were dispatched to the scene and managed to put out the fire.
“The fire is out, [we dispatched] 20 fire trucks,” said Poniman, head of the Central Jakarta Firefighter Agency early Monday morning, as quoted by Merdeka.
Poniman said the fire originated from a shoe store on the ground floor of the shopping center.
The cost of damages from the fire has not been estimated. Luckily, there were no human casualties from the fire.
Authorities are currently cleaning up the scene of the fire. A police line was put up around the area affected by the fire, while the rest of the shopping center remains open to public.
