We get it: J.Co’s donuts and coffee are among the best and affordable – but when it’s time to go, it’s time to go. No need to throw tantrums.
A lady and her husband obviously missed that memo at a J.Co branch in the Banten capital of Serang recently. They even posted a video that has been making the rounds this week, which backfired and attracted flak towards themselves.
The clip, taken in turns by the couple, mostly depicts the wife berating one male and two female J.Co servers. The couple was hanging out at the café late in the evening when the employees switched off the lights for closing time.
Offended that they were asked to leave, the wife launched a bizarre tirade at the café employees. At one point, she said the female servers were no longer virgins — unlike her, she claimed, who saved herself until marriage.
“These two (female servers) were even being flirty, my husband said they were flirting with him,” the woman said to the camera, offering no evidence to support the claim.
To the immense credit of the employees, they stayed calm and quiet and did not stoop down to the couple’s level.
With an air of deluded self-righteousness, the couple posted the video on social media, presumably confident that they would receive unanimous support from netizens. Instead, they were barraged with ridicule, with some going as far as throwing shade at their physical appearance, saying it was highly unlikely that the wife’s flirting claims were true.
Serang Police confirmed that the incident happened on Sunday, Aug. 7. After police mediated the two parties involved, both of whom agreed to not press charges.
