Amazeballs: Indonesia had 33 million active daily Facebook users in 2014

We’re willing to bet that you came across this very story on Facebook and that you’re reading this from a mobile device.

How can we be sure? Well, Facebook released their 2014 Indonesian user data yesterday and (surprise, surprise!) the general conclusion is that Indonesians are still hooked on Facebook.

“The number of active daily users who access Facebook is 33 million, while the active monthly users total 65 million,” said Facebook Indonesia Country Head Anand Tilak, as quoted by Berita Satu yesterday.

Anand added that according to a study done by global market research firm TNS Insight in 2014, Facebook had the highest penetration level in Indonesia compared to other social media platforms. Indonesians on average access Facebook 5.7 times in a week.

The data showed that Indonesians generally access Facebook from their mobile device.

“In Indonesia, people spend more time on their smartphones than watching television. On average, Indonesians spend 181 minutes on the smartphone and only 132 minutes watching TV per day. As for mobile access to Facebook, Indonesians spend one to four minutes on average,” Anand said.

So it’s ok if you have a Facebook addiction. 33 million people in this country are in the same boat.
