Suroso, a 45-year-old resident of the Angke Apartments in Tambora, West Jakarta, was found dead early this morning, above somebody else’s apartment ceiling.
He was found lying face down above the ceiling of neighbor Lim Alek’s apartment, who lives six doors down from Suroso with his young wife, 26-year-old Siti Nurjanah.
Initial police investigations revealed that Suroso died after being electrocuted by wires installed above the ceiling.
Many of the building’s residents have a theory as to why Suroso would go crawling there in the first place.
“Many say he was peeping at a newlywed couple [having sex],” said Gianto, a resident of the building, as quoted by Warta Kota today.
Suroso’s suffered from burns on 90% of his body. He was believed to have died more than a day before he was found this morning.
Authorities took his body to the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital for a full autopsy.
