Official Soekarno-Hatta Airport taxis now have something to back up their status: all 2,974 of them were given a special sticker by airport maintenance company PT Angkasa Pura II.
In light of the recent robberies in a fake Express taxi, authorities wanted to give passengers a way to distinguish which taxis at the airport are trustworthy from those that might have a mugger waiting for you inside the trunk.
But the main reason behind the sticker is that there are too many unofficial taxis picking up passengers at the airport.
“The stickers have been put up since Monday, in line with the permit from the Ministry of Transportation and PT Angkasa Pura II. Taxis with the sticker are guaranteed to charge the normal fare and driven by a well-behaved and respectful driver,” said Yudis Tiawan, Public Relations Manager at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, as quoted by Warta Kota today.
Taxi companies officially registered at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport are Blue Bird, Taksiku, Gamya, Express, Primajasa, Borobudur, Diamond and Gading Taksi.
