Votes are being cast in the second round of the hard fought and bitterly divisive Jakarta governor’s race even as this is being written. As with all controversial issues in the capital, a lot of the most heated debate about the elections and its candidates (incumbent Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama and Vice Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat versus rivals Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga Uno), have taken place online.
Voting day is no exception, with supporters taking to Twitter with dueling hashtags, #AhokToday and #AkuCoblosAniesSandi (I Choose Anies-Sandi) to show their support and, in many cases, the ink-stained finger they just used to vote for their candidate of choice. Here are a few that stood out to us:

“The face of Muslims who choose #AkuCoblosAniesSandi exit the voting booth with relief. Those who did not dare to raise their heads are certainly embarrassed after they made the wrong choice.”
