If you’re at work today, chances are many of your colleagues are still missing from work for various, possibly lazy reasons.
But Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama has no tolerance for civil servants who skip work on the first day back from the Idul Fitri holiday today.
“If there are [civil servants] who skip work for no good reason, we’ll give them a light sanction and we won’t give them their TKD (Regional Performance Incentive) for 3 months,” Ahok said, as quoted by Vivanews today.
To catch the offenders, the provincial government’s Regional Employment Body (BKD) conducted surprise inspections in all of Jakarta’s public service offices this morning.
The result of the inspection has not yet been revealed, though we suspect that a good portion of Jakarta’s civil servants won’t be receiving their bonuses for the next three months.
