The discovery and shutdown of a shop selling pot brownies and other baked goods in Blok M caused a big stir two weeks ago. Now drug-laced desserts are back in the news after police announced they had also cracked the case of cannabis cookie vendors operating out of Kemayoran.
South Jakarta Police Commissioner Surawan said officers had discovered the crooked cookie makers on the afternoon of April 12, which would make it around the same time as the pot brownie brokers were busted.
Surawan said police have secured several plastic jars containing cookies laced with THC during the raid. He said his officers were able to find the vendors simply by searching the internet using the information they received from the sellers to track them down and search them.
The Head of South Jakarta Police Narcotics Unit, Hando Wibowo said the cookies were being produced in a house in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
“When we carried out a search at the scene, the rented house was empty, but we succeeded in finding and securing evidence in the form of marijuana cookies,” he said, as quoted by Vivanews.
Officers are still investigating the case.
