Aca Putri, a 3-year-old toddler from Jatiasih in Bekasi, died on Wednesday after her grandmother unknowingly gave her spoiled milk to drink.
Police say the grandmother, 44-year-old Nimah, gave her a half-finished milk carton from the previous night for Aca to drink on Wednesday morning. The milk carton was left open overnight.
“The milk already expired because the carton was left open from the previous night. 15 minutes [after Aca drank the milk], she experienced seizures,” said Jatiasih Police Chief Aslan Sulastomo, as quoted by BeritaSatu yesterday.
Nimah then rushed Aca to the Kartini Jatiasih Hospital. Unfortunately, Aca passed away later on in the day.
Aslan added that Aca already exhibited signs of a fever on Tuesday evening after Nimah took her to a dangdut show.
“Aca had been living with her grandmother for a long time, because her mother is in jail for drugs and her father was at work,” Aslan said.
