28-year-old Japanese woman found dead in Tebet apartment, murder suspected

A female Japanese national, Yoshimi Nishimura (28), was found dead inside her apartment in the Casa Grande Residence in Tebet, South Jakarta yesterday.

The police suspect that Yoshimi was murdered, as there were bruises around her neck.

“We suspect it was because she was strangled. Other than that, there was no other wounds on her body,” Tebet Police Chief I Ketut Sudharma announced preliminary medical examination results yesterday, as quoted by Kompas

Yoshimi was found dead in her apartment by the apartment’s agent, her driver, and a security guard after her peers hadn’t heard from her for some time. The police believe that Yoshimi died two days before she was found yesterday.

Her mobile phone is also reportedly missing, believed to have been stolen by her killer.

Yoshimi’s body is currently at the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital in Central Jakarta undergoing autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
