We’ve heard far too many stories about men lashing out violently after having their fragile egos bruised by a woman in Indonesia, but this particular tale is made even worse by the fact that the 24-year-old man allegedly behind this heinous crime was taking revenge on a 15-year-old girl who allegedly broke up with him and that he got his 14-year-old brother to carry out the attack.

The sibling suspects from Cirebon, West Java, were forced to explain their crime at the Lemahwungkuk Police Station today. In front of the media, the 24-year-old, identified by police by his initials NS, said he was jealous after hearing that his ex-girlfriend was in a relationship with somebody else. He said that even though they had been broken up for some time, he was still in love with her.

“It happened on Saturday (Oct 28) afternoon. I made a mistake, because I was jealous. I took my brother to intercept the victim while carrying battery acid. When the victim passed by, I immediately sent my brother to splash water in the victim’s face,” the 24-year-old, identified as NS, said as quoted by Kompas.

After doing the deed, NS and his younger brother, identified as MS, immediately fled the scene using a motorcycle.

MS admitted to throwing the contents of a water bottle given to her by her brother at the victim, but claims he didn’t know that it was filled with battery acid.

“I splashed her because my brother told me to. But I did not know that it was filled with battery acid,” said MS, who added that he never would have done so the terrible deed has he known.

According to the police, the victim suffered serious injuries to her face and eyes.

Lemahwungkuk Police Chief Tarsiman said that shortly after the attack, the victim’s parents reported it to the police, who caught the two suspects within less than 24 hours.

Tarsiman said that both siblings would be charged with premeditated assault and could face up to 12 years in jail for their crimes.

  1. Hey Coconuts, you’ve gotten the words ‘brother’ and ‘sister’ mixed up. First it says he got his brother to throw the acid, then it switches to saying it was his sister. Also, in the headline there shouldn’t be a full stop after the word ‘little’.
