Safira Permatasari, a 20-year-old architecture student at Universitas Indonesiaa (UI), has gone missing since Friday.
UI Spokesperson Rifelly Dwi Astuti confirmed Safira’s disappearance and said the university is working together with authorities and Safira’s parents to find her.
“We will continually monitor this case. We pray that Safira is in good health and will return to her family,” Rifelly told Tempo today.
Safira was reportedly last seen entering a Blue Bird taxi at 11am in Tanjung Barat, South Jakarta on Friday. She is described as being 160 cm tall and having shoulder-length straight black hair, light brown skin and mixed-Middle Eastern facial features.
We hope the mystery of Safira’s whereabouts can be solved quickly so she can return home safely. After all, UI is where one of the most perplexing murder cases in Jakarta this year took place, in which UI student Akseyna Ahad Dori was found drowned in suspicious circumstances in the campus lake. The police still haven’t been able to identify a suspect in that case.
