Two sisters’ soapy quest to achieve viral fame by bathing on a moving motorcycle worked as intended, with a fine for a couple of traffic infractions being the only trade-off.

Last week, a video went wildly viral showing two women bathing — fully clothed — on a motorcycle. The way they pulled it off was with the passenger holding a bucket of soapy water in front of her, and using a water dipper to soak both herself and the driver for one lathery bath on the move.

Police have since determined that the video was taken in the city of Mojokerto, East Java on Friday, with the two women identified as sisters Icha Kharoline and Ajeng Amelia — the latter being the driver. It turned out that Icha is a dangdut singer and somewhat of a social media celebrity with 1.1 million followers on Instagram as of the time of writing, while her sister is a convenience store employee.

The two were summoned by the local police and fined IDR250K (US$17.87) for a couple of traffic infractions.

“The two were clearly not wearing helmets and were not driving responsibly,” said Boby Zulfikar, head of Mojokerto Police Traffic Unit, as quoted by Tribun.

The two sisters have since apologized for their actions. In an Instagram story post, Icha wrote that she and Ajeng made the video to entertain people online.

“I did not do anything wrong. I am not a criminal. I am not a bad person. I am not a thief, or anything like that. I did it so that I can entertain all of you,” she wrote.

Were you entertained, or do you think Icha and Ajeng’s motorcycle bathing could have harmed themselves and others? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below or on our social media pages.
