Ten drug convicts who were imprisoned at National Narcotics Agency (BNN) headquarters in Cawang, East Jakarta, escaped early this morning.
“Around 3 am today some BNN prisoners escaped by sawing through prison bars and breaking through a wall,” said BNN Spokesman Slamet Pribadi, as quoted by Warta Kota today.
The prisoners escaped through a 40cm x 30cm hole they created in a wall at the back of the building.
“We advise the 10 prisoners to return to their cells, or BNN will be called to take drastic actions,” Slamet said.
Five of the prisoners were implicated in an Acehnese drug network. Two of the others were caught dealing 25.2 kg of methamphetamine at the San Diego Hills Cemetery. BNN didn’t reveal the crimes committed by the remaining three prisoners.
