You have to be really brave to try and break up a bar brawl. Recently, one young man’s brave attempt to stop such a fight led to his losing a nose, literally.
On Sunday February 7, 25-year-old Reiner was casually hanging out with his friends at Potato Head Garage in SCBD, when all of a sudden one of his friends started arguing with a stranger.
Renier then tried to break up the fight, only for another stranger, who has been identified in the media as Arsha Algadri, to take offense and bring the fight to Reiner.
The two then brawled briefly until, shockingly, Arsha pinned Reiner down on the floor and bit off part of his nose.
Not much was known about what happened afterwards, but Arsha turned himself in to the police yesterday and admitted his crime.
“We have named Arsha a suspect and he has cooperatively turned himself in,” said AKBP Eko Hadi Santoso, head of the Mobile Detective sub-unit at the Jakarta Metro Police’s Public Crimes Investigation Directorate, as quoted by Detik.
The police say they’re still investigating the matter further before any charges will be made.
As for Reiner, it turned out that he’s a close acquaintance of mother-daughter actresses Sophia Latjuba and Eva Celia. Sophia posted this Instagram photo three days ago to give an update on Renier’s condition:
As mentioned in the post, Reiner apparently had to undergo a 5-hour reconstruction surgery, and will need to have several more surgeries before his nose is fully reconstructed.
