Comedy lovers in the Indonesian capital are getting a rare treat at the start of 2019 with a performance by one of the world’s hottest comics at the moment, Australian stand-up extraordinaire Jim Jefferies, who will be performing in Jakarta on January 25.

Jefferies is known to global audiences these days thanks to his multiple stand-up specials on Netflix as well as his critically-acclaimed show on Comedy Central in which he brings his signature blend of incredibly clever and outrageously crude comedy to bear on current events, such as this brilliant segment on free speech on American college campuses:
You may also be familiar with Jefferies from his hugely viral set about gun control in America which has been viewed millions of times on Youtube and earned him his Comedy Central gig.
Jefferies may be best known for tackling tough political topics with cutting humor, but his sets are full of controversial bits about sex, drugs. religion and all sorts of things that could potentially get him in trouble here in Indonesia (hopefully he’ll be well informed about the country’s strict blasphemy laws before his set).
His stand-up has gotten some pretty extreme reactions in the past, like in 2007 when he got a black eye after being assaulted by a heckler.
