What do young Asians really think about LGBT people? Coconuts TV asks in the latest round of “Questions”

The “LGBT panic” in Indonesia seems to have quieted down (at least for the moment), but the issues of sexual orientation and identity still remain incredibly controversial in Indonesia.

Often, opponents of LGBT rights frame it as a matter of traditional “Eastern” values versus liberal “Western” values. But are LGBT rights really a controversial matter throughout all of Asia, especially amongst young people?

Our video production team, Coconuts TV, sought to answer that and many other important questions in their latest series titled, appropriately enough, “Questions.” They asked young folks in the cities Coconuts covers throughout Asia what they thought about LGBT people. Their opinions, both positive and negative, represent the wide spectrum of attitudes towards gay rights that can be seen throughout this part of the world.

Also be sure to check out the first video from our “Questions” series in which we ask young people what they think about social media addiction. And don’t forget to check out Coconuts TV to see tons of amazing, inspiring and hilarious videos about every aspect of Asia.
