“Road to DWP featuring Dannic” at Dragonfly
If you’re reading this, you probably know DWP stand for Djakarta Warehouse Project (Dec 12 & 13), arguably the biggest yearly EDM event in Jakarta. The event’s organizer, Ismaya Live, has been promoting hell out of the event this year, managing to snag several big names just to play in their “Road to DWP” pre-event series. The legendary Ritchie Hawtin will be playing Blowfish next Weds, but first up we’ve got Dannic spinning the decks at Dragonfly tonight.
Dannic is a highly prodigious DJ and producer from Breda in the Netherlands – which just happens to also be the hometown of Tiësto and Hardwell. He rose to the #30 spot on this year’s Top 100 DJ Poll, confirming his place as one of best EDM artists on Earth. Known for his amazing mash-ups and “big room electro” style, he’s a force to be reckoned with at the clubs. Check out his epic set from this year’s Tomorrowland festival to get a taste of what he’ll be bringing to Dragonfly.

“One More Time: A Tribute to Daft Punk” at Fable
Who doesn’t like Daft Punk? Horrible, horrible people, that’s who. While the original French duo won’t be coming to Jakarta tonite (but someday soon, we hope and pray) this tribute night at Fable should still be pretty fun. The house DJ’s are even dressing up in replica metal helmets and light-up suits to help simulate the experience!

Syzz at X2
A young Dutch DJ and producing duo that Dash Berlin has proclaimed to be breakout stars, there hyperkinetic house style should keep the heaving masses at X2 moving late into the night.

“Tonstartssbandht Live in Jakarta” at Jaya Pub
One of the hippest gigs in Jakarta is happening in Jaya Pub this Sunday (and it’s not even Superbad).
Tonstartssbandht is made up of two brothers from Florida who have made a name for themselves with their unique blend of boogie, 60’s psychedelic rock and choral pop. Their newest album, “Overseas” has received some rave reviews from the likes of Pitchfork and Vice declared they will “change your life.“
