Amid all the concert announcements in Jakarta lately, among the most exciting just happens to involve the understated duo that is Kings of Convenience.

Indie label Aksara Records this morning confirmed the Norway-based acoustic darlings Eirik Glambek Bøe and Erlend Øye for an intimate show on March 9, 2023 at The Ritz-Carlton in Pacific Place.

Tickets will go on sale at 2pm on Nov. 16, priced at IDR792K (US$50.46) for the early birds and IDR880K (US$56.07) for regular tickets. You can get yours at tiket.com once they’re available.

With their trademark soothing acoustic melodies, Kings of Convenience has a substantial following in Indonesia. The duo has played shows in Indonesia in 2007 and 2010 previously.

As of this article’s publication, the Jakarta date has not been added to the duo’s official website. It does, however, seem like a matter of convenience (ahem) that they would come to the Indonesian capital after a show in Singapore on March 6.

Kings of Convenience shot to popularity in the early 2000s with favorites like I’d Rather Dance With You, I Don’t Know What I Can Save You From and Cayman Islands. They recently released an album in 2021 titled Peace Or Love following a 12-year album hiatus.
