Was Jessica Iskandar’s “sexual harassment” just a harmless video selfie?

We were wondering exactly what a hair salon therapist did that led to actress Jessica Iskandar reporting him to the police for sexual harassment. Did Jessica overreact to a harmless situation?

The Jakarta Police said the 27-year-old actress was upset because the therapist, identified in the police report as Najib, sneakily recorded Jessica in a video using his camera phone.

“When Jessica was being treated, she felt something was not right because the therapist was massaging with only one hand. When Jessica looked in the mirror, it turned out the therapist was recording a video on his phone [using his other hand],” said Jakarta Police Spokesman Martinus Sitompul, as quoted by Vivanews yesterday.

We’re not denying that what the therapist did was all kinds of creepy. But trying to sneak a video selfie with an actress is hardly sexual harassment. Maybe he was just star struck.

“As for what part of [Jessica’s] body was being filmed, we can’t publish that information,” Martinus added.

When Jessica reported the therapist to the police, the video footage was also confiscated. But Jessica and the therapist soon made peace and the actress retracted the police report last Friday.

As for the video, it was returned to the therapist, who now has full rights to keep or delete the video. We’re guessing he’ll probably keep it.
