Japanese retail giant Uniqlo has opened its first neighborhood store in Indonesia, located at One District at Puri on Jalan Metland Boulevard, Tangerang.

The store, which was launched on May 26, 2023, coincides with the 10th anniversary of Uniqlo opening its first Indonesia store at Lotte Avenue Mall in June 2013.

The neighborhood store concept presents a new way of offering a more intimate and personalized shopping experience for customers. Unlike the usual stores that are located in malls or shopping centers, the neighborhood store stands alone and aims to blend in with the surrounding community.

The store covers an area of 2,000 square meters and features a spacious and minimalist design. It notably exclusively offers limited edition goods from collaborations with local brands such as Indomie, Gojek, and Tolak Angin.

To support the local economy and culture, Uniqlo also collaborates with local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Tangerang to provide various services and products at the store. For example, customers can enjoy coffee from local coffee shops or buy souvenirs from local artisans.

The neighborhood store is Uniqlo’s 64th overall in Indonesia.
