REC 4: Apocalypse
The fourth and final in the surprisingly good REC series of Spanish :found footage” horror films, Apocalypse is a direct sequel to REC 2 tells the story of a world devastated by a zombie plague and the survivors trying to find a cure.
Should you watch it? Definitely if you’re a fan of the REC series. If you’re a fan of horror movies but haven’t seen any of the REC movies yet, they’re definitely worth a watch. Each of the films has gotten strong reviews from critics – REC 4 currently has a 77% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Playing at Blitzmegaplex.
The Seventh Son
A sword and sorcery fantasy in the vein of Lord of the Rings, The Seventh Son is based on a series of popular novels called the “The Wardstone Chronicles.” It’s about a powerful wizard (Jeff Bridges) who must take on an apprentice to stop a powerful witch (Julianne Moore).
Should you watch it? Probably not, unless you’re a big fan of fantasy movies. Despite the presence of stars like Bridges and Moore, most critics panned The Seventh Son’s poor production values and predictable plot. It currently has a 6/10 on IMDB. Playing at 21 Cinemas and Blitzmegaplex.
