After three days in the ICU, comedian Kabul “Tessy” Basuki is showing positive signs of recovery. However, his digestive system suffered damage after the comedian drank floor cleaning liquid in an attempted suicide.
“Mr KB (Tessy) has been in this hospital for six days, three days in the ICU. He is showing signs of recovery. But he’s facing problems in his digestive system, so he needs more time to recover,” said Dr Yayok at the National Police Hospital in East Jakarta today.
Tessy’s throat, stomach, and intestines were damaged by the floor cleaning liquid he drank. But Dr Yayok refused to divulge more about Tessy’s condition, citing doctor-patient confidentiality.
“But he [Tessy] can communicate well,” said Dr Yayok.
Tessy, a comedian from the comedy group Srimulat, was arrested in a drug bust at his home last Thursday. At the time, Tessy was hosting a party for three of his friends, all of whom were doing drugs as well.
Before the police took him away, Tessy excused himself to the bathroom. There, he attempted to commit suicide by drinking floor cleaning liquid.
