For his recent hit film, titled ‘Fan’, Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan plays both a movie star and his creepy obsessive fan, Gaurav, who happens to closely resemble his idol. Khan’s physical transformation into the fan for the film required a rigorous make up process, but it’s something they could’ve skipped altogether had the filmmakers looked to Indonesia to cast Gaurav instead.
Meet Kadil Mohan Khan Gerhana (as he is known on Facebook), an Indonesian Go-Jek motorcycle taxi driver who, in the past few days, has quickly shot to fame amongst the archipelago’s Bollywood fans on social media due to his uncanny resemblance to SRK (Khadil is the one on the left, just in case you need help figuring it out).
Obviously Khadil’s likeness to the Bollywood mega star is open for debate (we think there’s something to be said about the similarities in their charming smiles), but his Facebook timeline is being flooded with netizens pointing out that, perhaps, Khadil is SRK’s Indonesian doppelganger.
According to posts on his Facebook timeline, Kadil appears to be a Go-Jek driver from Bekasi, a satellite city of Jakarta. He hasn’t commented on his newfound fame, but there are plenty of people on Facebook urging him to appear on a celebrity likeness show at a local TV station so that he can increase his exposure. Who knows, maybe then Kadil will get noticed by SRK himself and get hired to be one of his stunt doubles in a future film.
In any case, we wouldn’t be surprised if a certain Shah Rukh Khan Indonesian superfan goes out of her way to meet and score a photo op with his newly discovered lookalike.
