Shah Rukh Khan, arguably the most famous Bollywood actor on Earth, recently played a fan obsessed with meeting his idol in a film appropriately titled “Fan”. As one of the most adored movie stars in the world, Khan has his own fair share of extremely enthusiastic fans. One of those fans, a young woman from Indonesia named Mutiara Ulfa Herlita, made a lot of ladies jealous last week when she was finally able to meet Khan in person and even get a hug and kiss from her idol.
But Mutiara’s quest to meet Khan was apparently not an easy one, as shown in her posts on both Twitter and Facebook, which indicate that she traveled to India with a friend just to meet her hero and refused to leave the country until she had done so.
According to her tweets, Mutiara has been reaching out to Khan on Twitter for quite a while and has written him a “thousand letters” (something she apparently has a good sense of humor about…).
Despite never receiving a reply from Khan, Mutiara remained absolutely determied to meet him. During her time in India, she apparently went to Mannat, Khan’s luxurious estate in Mumbai, several times in her attempts to meet her idol.
Mutiara’s desperate pleas to Khan were picked up by a popular SRK fan club who somehow managed to get the star’s attention.
Which is a good thing, because it looks like Mutiara was getting pretty desperate near the end, having to rely on help from the Indonesian Consulate in Mumbai.
Finally, last Wednesday, Mutiara’s perseverance paid off and she got to meet Khan up close and personal. Just look at the smile on her face:
It’s not clear if Mutiara is back in Indonesia now. Her social media posts ended after her meeting with Khan last week. It’s entirely possible she might have died of happiness.
Now some other media outlets have described Mutiara as something of a crazy stalker, but there is no evidence she did anything illegal in her quest to meet Khan. She simply had a dream of meeting her idol and made it happen. Hopefully now that her dream has been fulfilled, she’ll be able to return to her life in Indonesia without any regrets.
