Tika Ramlan, while working to promote her second single, “”Panah Asmara” said she had been invited to Japan to promote tourism to the Indonesian capital as part of the city’s “Enjoy Jakarta” campaign.
Tika said she welcomed the invitation. Although she was born in Bandung (she first rose to fame representing Bandung in Indosiar Fantasy Academy), she said was excited to help promote the art and culture of the capital abroad.
“I was invited to Japan to promote Jakarta. Actually I was an ambassador for ‘Enjoy Jakarta.’ There I sang in the cities of Tokyo and Osaka. Of course, between that, I also introduced Jakarta, with all its beauty,” Tika said at the Dahsyat RCTI studio in Kebun Jeruk, Jakarta today.
Tika said some people thought it was strange that she would promote Jakarta because she was born in Bandung. But Tika said that wasn’t a problem for her since she had lived in Jakarta quite a while and was very familiar with the ins and outs of the Indonesian capital.
“While in Japan, I wasn’t the only one promoting Jakarta. Sandra and JKT48 were also there. I also got a referral from the Department of Tourism in Jakarta. Anyways, I am offering the beauty of Jakarta to Japanese tourists that want to visit,” Tika said.
