Being a white-skinned foreigner aka bule in Indonesia has plenty of plus and minus points. Lately, many foreigners in Indonesia have been complaining (and leaving) because of the minuses being thrown at them, with increasingly strict government regulations making it harder for them to live and do business here.
But there are still plenty of good things about being a bule here, as Indonesian Youtube star Sacha Stevenson (most well-known for her “How to Act Indonesian” series) points out in this video.
Unlike some of the clueless bule newbies she’s played in past videos, this time her blond-wigged alter ego seems to be a longer term expat who knows how to take advantage of her foreign status (though she still doesn’t seem to get that her boyfriend has a “muka pembantu”).
