It’s a testament to Rieke Diah Pitaloka’s identity as a politician as opposed to a celebrity that she went through a divorce with her husband, Donny Gahral Adian, almost unnoticed by the public.
Rieke, the 41-year-old former actress who became a legislator with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), filed for divorce on December 15, 2014 at the Depok Religious Court. The divorce was finalized almost a month later on January 13.
“During court sessions, the matter was decided by a default judgment. There were only two sessions,” said Depok Religious Court Spokesman Suryadi, as quoted by Warta Kota yesterday.
Suryadi added that Rieke and Donny already came to amicable terms prior to the divorce trial, which smoothed proceedings. The divorced couple also isn’t competing for custody of their children.
